INTRODUCTION ~ Our Team

Principal - Ng Kui Ling

Ms. Ng Kui Ling is currently the principal of House of Star, the education centre formed by PPLKA Hua Ming WP Kuala Lumpur & Selangor.

Ng Kui Ling obtained her Diploma in Nursing from Pantai College of Nursing in the year 2000. She was working as a staff nurse in surgical and medical ward in Pantai Medical Centre (Bangsar). After completed her five year bonded contract, she resigned and joined Hua Ming Autism Society in the year 2006.

After working as a teacher for 3 years, her interest in knowing more about autism grew gradually. To further enhance her knowledge in this field, she decided to take a part time course from Linguistic Council at Kuala Lumpur. In the year 2010, she completed the Diploma in Learning Disability Management and Child Psychology and in the year 2012, she completed her Advanced Diploma in Special Education. While still working as the supervisor in the centre, she is now planning to further her studies to obtain a Master’s degree in the near future.

Specialist Advisor – Alex Ng Wei Siong

Mr Alex Ng Wei Siong is a Clinical Psychologist and Counsellor in a private practice at Sime Darby Medical Centre Subang Jaya, and a visiting Consultant at Loh Guan Lye Medical Centre, Penang. His studies and work have taken him as far as to University Malaysia Sabah (Bac. Of Psychology, Counselling. Hons), National University Malaysia (M. A. Clinical Psychology.), London College of Clinical Hypnosis (I.C. and Dip. Clinical Hypnosis), The Expressive Therapies Institute of Australia (Cert Expressive Therapies), Turning Point Alcohol and Drug Centre, Australia, and Cert. of Neurofeedback Therapy (Spectrum Learning, Singapore).

He has previously worked within the special areas of children and adolescent in the autism spectrum, children with learning disabilities and children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. He also showed an interest in conducting research in adolescent and adult with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Brain Trauma and Injury, and emotion and cognitive functioning in Epilepsy’s Survival.

He was previously a Clinical Psychologist and Counsellor for the Ministry of Health Malaysia, servicing at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

Mr. Alex Ng also spent several years lecturing part-time in the local universities and colleges such as University Science Malaysia, University Science Islamic Malaysia, Sime Darby Nursing and Health Science College, New Era College, Institute of Early Learning Development, Linguistic Council, Colleges of Nursing Ministry of Health, College of Occupational Therapies Ministry of Health, and College of Physiology and Physiotherapy Ministry of Health. He is also a part time trainer for corporate organization as well as non-governmental organization.

Specialist Advisor – Ronnie Tan

Mr. Ronnie Tan is both a Speech-Language Therapist as well as Special Education Interventionist. He currently works full-time in a private practice at KPJ Tawakkal Rehabilition Centre, Jalan Pahang and also provides Home Based Speech-Language Assessment & Therapies to Autistic kids.

He holds a Bachelor of Speech Science with Honours from the University Kebangsaan Malaysia and a Master’s degree in Education (Special Education) from the University of Malaya. He is also a HANEN Certified Speech-Language Therapist.

He has provided speech-language & communication therapy to children & adolescent at private and government hospitals, The National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM), the Persatuan Sindrom Down Malaysia (PSDM) and the Community Rehabilitation Center (PDK). He also serves as a special education lecturer at a college and volunteers his services to NGO too.

Specialist Advisor – Wong Jhy Ling

Ms. Wong Jyh Ling graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Multimedia University (MMU) in 2012 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2014 after completing her chambering in Messrs Richard Wee & Yip, where she stayed on to practice for a few years before joining Messrs Justin Voon Chooi & Wing in February 2016.

Jyh Ling mainly deals with legal advisory works, dispute resolution and general civil litigation matters, corporate and commercial disputes, and construction disputes.

Education Consultant – Chan Shiu Sum

Ms. Chan Shiu Sum was the ex-principal of House of Star, the education centre formed by PPLKA Hua Ming WP Kuala Lumpur & Selangor.

After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of York in the UK, she started her work as a special education teacher in House of Star. Later she decided to further her studies in Master’s degree in Special Needs from University of Nottingham, UK. After completing her Master’s, she came back and continues helping children with autism in Malaysia.

Ms. Chan has multiple working experiences in different countries. She was trained in Beijing and Taipei for two months before. She has also volunteered in an Autistic school as a teacher assistant while studying in Nottingham, UK. She has been working with children with autism for the past 15 years.

Ms. Chan also gives talks and training to parents, kindergarten and primary school teachers and to the public alike. She was one of the speakers who gave talk around the country when NASOM (National Autism Society) started the road show to raise public awareness in Autism.
